Benefits of Membership

Do you have plans to write a book and dream of becoming a
published author? Have you ever considered becoming your
own publisher? Whether you are published by someone else
or you choose to self-publish, you'll have to work hard and
you'll probably need to learn a lot.
The St. Louis Publishers Association (SLPA) can introduce
you to people who have successfully published their books.
Also, we can begin to acquaint you with the publishing
process.
Membership in the St. Louis Publishers Association
includes these benefits and more:
- Free attendance at our monthly meetings for
networking
and a 1-2 hour publishing program.
- Free access to the St. Louis Publishers Association
News & Views, the monthly newsletter of the association.
The current issue is available to the public on our home
page, but an archive of useful back issues is available to
members.
- Current members may submit TWO free listings for our online
catalog, resource directory or speakers' bureau, including a link
to their own site. (Additional listings available for $20/yr.)
- Option #1: Submit your published book for display in
our online catalog, including a link to your own site.
- Option #2: Submit your Vendor credentials and contact info
for our online Resources Guide, including a link to your site.
- Option #3: Submit your Speaking credentials and contact info
for our online Speakers' Bureau, including a link to your site.
- Access to the Members Only area of our site where you'll find
an archive of past newsletters, handouts from previous meetings
available to download, plus a Q&A blog just for members.
- Discounted membership fees in the Independent Book
Publishers Association (IBPA) and in the Small Publishers
Association of North America (SPAN). Click the logos below to
visit their sites.
- Free or discounted attendance fees to publishing seminars
and educational programs sponsored by SLPA, IBPA or
SPAN.
- Low cost participation in co-op marketing and promotional
programs to help you get exposure for your products or
services.
- Discounts from vendors who may offer specials from time to
time to members of SLPA.
- Announcement of your new releases on our site and in News
and Views, SLPA's monthly newsletter when you submit them.
- Tips and information about book reviewers, special programs
for publishers just starting a business, book distribution, book
marketing and more.
