Memoir Writing and How It Relates to Fiction

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

Learn how the nonfiction writing and marketing of memoir and life writing is similar in aspects to fiction writing. Except YOU are the main character in the story. Your family is your most important audience, but what will attract them as well as other readers?

Linda Austin published Cherry Blossoms in Twilight, her mother’s memoir of growing up in Japan around WWII and became an advocate for life writing through her website Moonbridgebooks.com. She also wrote Poems That Come to Mind for caregivers, and she co-authored Battlefield Doc, a Korean War memoir. She has helped many others produce their memoirs or family histories. Linda is a long-time member of the SLPA.
